Katie + Josh / Wedding

Katie and Josh were married a few weekends ago at the beautiful Flanner and Buchanan Community Life Center at Washington Park East, on Indianapolis’ east side of town. The Community Life Center is a beautiful one-of-a-kind facility that greets visitors with beautiful architecture, an incredible three-story glass tower, a spectacular rotunda, an indoor fountain and elegant crystal chandeliers.

We photographed their engagement lifestyle session last Fall, and have been looking forward to their wedding ever since!

Katie and Josh opted to see each other before the ceremony, and in doing so allowed the rest of their day to flow from one event to another smoothly. We captured their private ‘First Look’ before any of the guests arrived, and went right into their One-on-One Bride & Groom pictures.

The three-story glass tower overlooking the ceremony gave us all kinds of dramatic architecture and natural light to work with, and having a beautiful bride such as Katie made our jobs even easier!

Katie’s rings, shoes and flowers were fabulous against the picturesque backdrops of the Community Life Center:

Not a single detail was overlooked — including the shoes — which had the word ‘Pink’ on the tag and was one of their wedding colors. Coincidence? Absolutely!

Katie and Josh had a European influence in much of their wedding details, so when we found a French book just laying around we had the perfect setup for their rings:

When photographing the Bridal Party there wasn’t hardly a cloud in the sky, but that meant plenty of soft blue skies for us to play with:

We loved their color combinations and thought the blue and pink looked stunning together!

The ceremony was held in an open-air courtyard, surrounded by a Cinderella-like glass hallway from which the wedding party was brought out through.

After the ceremony, guests were led thru the glass hallway to find their unique seating assignments waiting for them, neatly hung on pink ribbons:

Cocktail Hour was held outside the ballroom beneath the stained glass rotunda, allowing guests to enjoy the art gallery, flowing water fountain and beautiful crystal chandeliers.

Their reception was a lovely affair, and we couldn’t help but admire and appreciate the details and symmetry their first dance provided:

We kidnapped Katie and Josh during a break in their reception, and took advantage of the sweet evening light and cooler temperatures for some artistic One-on-One portraits:

Katie and Josh sped off after their reception en route to their two-week long honeymoon, with guests blowing bubbles at their grand getaway! We couldn’t have imagined a more perfect way to end their wedding celebration and were honored to be a part of their special day. You guys are truly awesome!
