Abigail + Josh / Wedding

Abigail and Josh were married last weekend, on a day filled full of love, friends and family. We photographed their engagement lifestyle session last Fall, and have been anxious for their wedding day ever since!

Abigail started the day off at Rapunzel Hair Design in Avon, and we joined her to capture some Getting Ready and Detail photos. While “scouting out” the location, I came across this precious little angel with her hands held out:

After showing off the picture to Abigail, it quickly became the most talked about detail shot of the day, and I was repeatedly asked to give everyone their own private ‘sneak peak’.

It’s fantastic when this happens, as you’re really immersed in the happiness and excitement surrounding the day at that point, which always helps as the better you acquaint yourself the people you’re photographing, the better the resulting photographs.

There were a few other detail shots I was particularly happy with, notably the flower and ring arrangement shown above, which I felt really brought out the stunning design of the ring itself. Whether your ring came from an ancestor or the 77Diamonds website, it’s important to give it the spotlight at some point. It’s the most important piece of jewellery you’ll ever own, and it deserves its own little gallery of professional shots.

The bouquet coordinated perfectly with the colors and theme for the day:

They opted to privately see each other before the ceremony for a ‘First Look’, but I covertly caught this moment from outside the sanctuary looking thru the closed church doors:

A cute little fun fact is that Abigail and Josh go to church at Advent Evangelical Lutheran Church in Zionsville every Sunday and sit in the same pew every week.

Naturally, we thought it would be fun to have them show us where they sit — this time, together as husband and wife:

Abigail wore two veils on her wedding day, one of which was a traditional custom-made and hand-sewn veil by an incredibly heart-warming woman she met while traveling abroad in Germany.

Beautiful blue skies and puffy white clouds graced us with their presence before turning to dark and thunderous storm clouds later in the evening:

After the ceremony, a stretched limo whisked them away to their reception venue: the rustic ‘Red Barn’ at Trader’s Point Creamery, an all Organic Dairy Farm and family-owned Artisan Creamery on the Northwest side of Indianapolis.

N.B. — For couples seeking a fresh, ‘environmentally green’ or avante garde approach to their wedding celebration, the location and natural surroundings don’t get any better than this:

The red historic barn was built in the 1800’s and has held up to the last 100+ years of daily use quite well.

Without a doubt, my favorite part of the barn is the exposed structural elements. The gaps between the wood boards allow rays of natural light in, creating a romantic feeling to the open-air space:

Shoup’s Country Foods catered the reception and brothers Mike and Matthew Bennett from Efusion Entertainment kept the party going all night long — through the thunderous down-pouring of rain right through the Severe Tornado Warnings (no lie)!

To Abigail and Josh, thank you for allowing us to be a part of your wedding celebration! We enjoyed ourselves in so many ways and couldn’t have been in any better company all day long. YOU GUYS ROCK!
